What is the Access Filter Straw?

The Access Filter Straw is a new, innovative filtering straw designed to fit your favourite water bottle or cup.  The universal fitting allows the straw to be fitted to most reusable bottles or cups delivering crystal clear, pleasant tasting water directly to you.

Simply fill your bottle with tap water from your home, school or workplace, fit the straw, replace the lid and the filter does the work for you.

How does it work?

The Access Filter Straw uses a sustainable, next-generation, bacteriostatic activated carbon filter produced using an advanced patented technology.  As the water enters the base of the straw, it is drawn through the filter, where specific contaminants are removed through the mechanism of adsorption. The filter removes chlorine, particulates, PFAS, organic materials, pesticides, solvents, pigments, dyes and most heavy metals without stripping the water of essential minerals needed for effective hydration. The result is safe, clean, healthy water.

There are 4 components that make up the Access Filter Straw.

  1. The straw

This is the main component of the straw.  It holds the filter in place and delivers water to the lid.

     2. The filter

The filter sits within the straw.  The filter is accessed through an opening at the base of the straw.

    3. The extender

The extender fits within the top of the straw and can be extended out to any length.  This allows the straw to reach the bottom of tall bottles and cups. The straw can be used with or without the extender.

    4. The connector

The connector fits on the end of the straw or extender to allow the straw to be fitted to a range of lids. The connector also provides a soft ending for use without a lid, for instance in a Stanley cup or an open bottle or glass.

How often do I need to replace the filter?

The process of adsorption involves the adhesion of molecules from a liquid (your water) to a surface (the carbon filter) and allows for the targeted removal of specific contaminants. Over time, the filter becomes full and needs to be replaced.  It is recommended the filter is replaced on a monthly basis.

How do I clean my Access Filter Straw?

The Access Filter Straw is transparent and comes apart for easy cleaning.  The straw, extender and adapter can be placed on the top shelf of the dishwasher for cleaning or hand washed in warm soapy water and rinsed off.  The filter should be rinsed with cool water and allowed to dry when not in use.

How do I know it is safe?

The straw is made from food grade materials that have been specifically selected and treated to ensure your safety.  The filter is independently certified to NSF/ANSI 42, so you know the water that it delivers is crystal clear, pleasant tasting and safe.
