"All of us, everyone, should have access to clean, safe water."
- Access Founder, Victoria Haigh
Growing up during some of Australia’s most severe droughts, I quickly learnt the value of water. Strict restrictions made it illegal to water our lawns or wash our cars. We collected our shower water in buckets to reuse on the gardens, and missed whole seasons of sport because the fields were too dry and cracked to play on. I became an engineer to find better ways to manage our water resources.
In 2015, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted for all United Nation Member States. The Agenda is defined by 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Goal 6.1 aims to provide everyone with safe drinking water by 2030.
